30 vente på festen (640x406)

Oh my, what a boring day, nothing is happening today, nothing.. oh… Heffanutt and Ant King has had constantly things to do or attend in a month now, and suddenly nothing.  Tomorrow they are going to join a party and can’t wait for it to begin.  But it`s so many hours to wait.. oh..

29 kjøpe raketter (640x343)

Ant King was in a hurry, couldn’t get the fireworks fast enough. Forgetting his scarf and cap, hope he doesn`t catch the flu.  Ant King loves everything loud, shiny and noisy and preparing for New Year is just as important than preparing for Christmas.

28 juleball (640x402)

They are invited to a party nearby, Ant King has taken his cane out of the closet, and Heffanutt is wearing a tie.

The boys get a big suprise when entering the stable to tack up the pony.  There the pony is,  shining from thouroughly brushing – not done by Ant King or Heffanutt – looking better than ever.  His mane is plattet in a beautiful braid and a red bow is tied to the end of it. It is the work of a happy well fed nisse.  When a nisse is respected and well taken care of he will take care of both you and your animals, bringing luck and happiness to the houshold.

27 julebukk (640x296)

Al dressed up as julebukk, hope to get some sweets and cookies from the neighbours. Julebukk is an old nearly extinct tradition of dressing up and asking for cookies and candies. You could “go Julebukk” between Christmas day and New year.  (Kind of like Halloween, but without the “trick” part – no punishment for not giving away cookies/candies, but it was kind of shameful if you didn`t have anything to share –  Christmas was (and is) a feast.) It was also common that the ones dressing up, would sing christmas songs to whoever opened the door.
